How do implants get placed in the bone?

//How do implants get placed in the bone?

When a single-rooted tooth in the front of the mouth is extracted, an implant can be placed right where the tooth used to be and then covered underneath the gums to allow healing. When you smile, it looks like an actual tooth!

When replacing a missing tooth in the back of the mouth, we use delicately made drills to create a hole that will fit the implant. We start with a very small drill that is the size of the width and depth of the implant. The area is then filled with an implant that corresponds with the diameter of the last drill. Filling the space means no area needs to heal aside from the incision where we opened the gum to see where we are placing the implant inside the bone.
