Will my Dental Insurance Cover Implants?
Of course, if we are to pay for the insurance, we would want them to help us with our treatment. The good news is that insurance does cover dental implants, but to a certain percentage. Normally, dental insurances never cover 100% of any kind of treatment, including implants. There is always a breakdown, sometimes 28%, 40%, 50%, 60%, etc. Or an insurance plan can be designed as a discount on the regular procedure that the patient will exercise with certain types of treatments, including implants.
What’s the important thing for everyone to know? If the insurance plan has implant coverage, you can expect some help from them. If not, it will have to be paid in full by the patient themself. Another thing to pay attention to verify if there is a waiting period on major treatments such as implants on your insurance plan. For example, if you contracted with your insurance on December first and decide to get your implant on January first, sometimes the insurance assistance won’t take place until the next December or January of the following year. This is because the insurance wants you to pay the premium for twelve months before they start covering major treatments such as implants.
